The home was built to resemble this Venetian Gothic style of the palazzi on the canals and the Sarasota Bay was to resemble the Grand Canal itself.
The couple hired a famous architect, Dwight Baum, however Mable oversaw every aspect of the construction making sure every detail of the 36,000 sq. ft. house was perfect. The interiors of the home displayed paintings, had fine china and a collection of silverware, and an organ installed that continued to impress their guests.
